USEP to offer BEEd-SpEd

Effective school year 2008-2009, the University shall be offering Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education (BEEd-SpEd).

The preparation of the BEEd-SpEd curriculum was in accordance with CHED Memorandum Order No. 30 Series of 2004 which stipulates among others the granting of a major in the BEEd program to only two areas: Special Education and Pre-School Education. It follows the approved field study program of the current BEEd curriculum where students begin their orientation in classrooms supervised by the Department of Education as early as in their second year of study. Also, the students will be exposed to different exceptionalities such as: the gifted and talented; the sensory disabled (hearing impaired and visually impaired); the intellectually challenged (mentally retarded and down syndrome) and children with behavior and emotional disorders (autistic, anxiety withdrawal and attention deficit and hyperactive disorder).

Individuals who are interested to enroll in the course must first pass the USEP Admission Test. For further queries, just contact the Public Information Office at (082) 2254697 or 2210084. You may also visit the USEP website, www.usep.edu.ph or email at pio@usep.edu.ph. (PIO)
